Anthony Raneri

The Ballad of Bill the Saint

This is my favorite song off of Anthony Raneri’s debut solo album New Cathedrals. Although it was released acoustically on Anthony’s myspace years ago I still love it and think he did a fantastic job on this new version. At first I was a little upset by how different it was, but now after reflecting I’m enjoying how it sounds. Raneri has come a long way, and I’m glad he’s taking us every step of the way with him.

Saves The Day

The Way His Collar Falls

My twin sister is pregnant with her second baby, which can only mean one thing; baby names. Her Husband want’s to name the child Pat, regardless of gender because his favorite team is the New England Patriots. Patricia for a girl, and Patrick for a boy. My sister is thinking a little out of the box and wants to name her child Leaf, (Probably not spelled Leif) which I totally dig. When she told me I started to sing this song to her but she and everyone else for that matter had no idea what the hell I was singing about.

Anyway, I love this song I heard it a long time ago and I immediately connected with it. It’s real without trying hard, It gives me an intense visceral nostalgia type feeling. I used to ride the train three to five times a week, and I would write down all the characteristics of the people that would stand out to me. I love the train, and I can’t wait to hop on it again soon.
